New IT initiatives taken up for Bird Group of Companies 

1. As a step towards paperless office, “eOffice software” has been implemented in Bird Group of Companies, by extending the facilities in the exisiting eOffice software being used at Visakhapatnam Steel Plant ( VSP), RINL.
   Implementation of this software in Bird Group of Companies was inaugurated at OMDC Head Office, Bhubaneswar on 7th Dec 2021.

Benefits of eOffice:-

• Enhancement of business transparency,
• Increase accountability,
• Assure data security and data integrity,
• Promote innovation by releasing staff energy and time from unproductive procedures,
• Dispensation of maintaining physical files, etc.
• Reduces paper consumption drastically,
• Search/ retrieval time for files will reduce drastically,
• Loss of files can be completely eliminated.

2.   As a step towards digitization of Land Records, a software titled “Central  Data Repository System (CDRS) for BGC” had been developed.

The software was inaugurated on OMDC Head Office, Bhubaneswar, on 3rd Jan 2022 and is in use.

Benefits of using Central Data Repository System (CDRS):-

• Data is stored in Cloud. So, can be accessed on fly (anywhere / any time).
• Helps in sharing the data.
• With Meta data feature, files can be tracked very fast.
