The Bird Group of Companies (EIL,OMDC & BSLC), under administrative control of the Ministry of Steel, Government of India was part of erstwhile Bird & Company Ltd, which was nationalized by the Government of India by virtue of The Bird & Company Ltd ( Acquisition and Transfer of Undertakings and other properties ) Act, 1980 ( Act No. 67 of 1980). Consequent upon such nationalization of the Undertaking, shares held by the said company in twenty one companies specified in Schedule I to the aforesaid Act stood transferred in the name of the President of India. Based on the shareholding pattern, out of the twenty-one companies, the following companies came under the administrative control of the Ministry of Steel, Government of India, and renamed as Bird Group of Companies which has head quarter at Salt Lake in Kolkata, West Bengal.बर्ड ग्रुप ऑफ कम्पनीज (ईआईएल, ओएमडीसी और बीएसएलसी), भारत सरकार इस्पात मंत्रालय के प्रशासनिक नियंत्रण के तहत बर्ड एंड कंपनी लिमिटेड का हिस्सा था, जिसे बर्ड एंड कंपनी लिमिटेड के आधार पर भारत सरकार द्वारा राष्ट्रीयकृत किया गया था। (अधिग्रहण और अन्य संपत्तियों का अधिग्रहण और स्थानांतरण) अधिनियम, 1 9 80 (1 9 80 का अधिनियम संख्या 67) उपराष्ट्रपति के राष्ट्रीयकरण के परिणामस्वरूप, उक्त कंपनी द्वारा उपरोक्त अधिनियम के लिए अनुसूची I में विनिर्दिष्ट इक्कीस कंपनियों में शेयरों को भारत के राष्ट्रपति के नाम पर स्थानांतरित कर दिया गया था। शेयरधारित पैटर्न के आधार पर, इक्कीस कंपनियों में से, निम्नलिखित कंपनियां स्टील मंत्रालय, भारत सरकार के प्रशासनिक नियंत्रण के अधीन आईं और उन्हें बर्ड ग्रुप ऑफ कम्पनियों के रूप में नाम दिया गया जो कि कोलकाता में साल्ट लेक में मुख्यालय है, पश्चिम बंगाल

EIL is an investment company & was incorporated in the year 1927 and has authorised capital of Rs.1.50 crore & paid up capital of Rs. 0.96 crore. After restructuring, its authorized capital has increased to Rs. 13.50 crore and paid up capital to Rs.1.44 crore. This is one of the oldest mining companies in respect of iron ore, and second to NMDC in mining of Iron ore. OMDC has also set up a 30,000 TPA capacity Sponge Iron Plant in 2004. BSLC was incorporated in the year 1910. The main activities of the company are mining and marketing of limestone and dolomite. The mines are located in Birmitrapur in the district of Sundargarh, Orissa. The authorized as well as paid up capital of BSLC was Rs.0.50 crore, after restructuring its authorized capital has gone upto Rs. 87.50 crore and paid up capital to Rs.87.29 crore.बीएसएलसी को 1 9 10 में शामिल किया गया था। कंपनी की मुख्य गतिविधियां चूना पत्थर और डोलोमाइट के खनन और विपणन हैं। खाड़ी सुन्दरगढ़, उड़ीसा जिले के बिरिमटापुर में स्थित हैं। बीएसएलसी की अधिकृत और साथ ही अदा की गई पूंजी रु .0.50 करोड़ थी, इसकी अधिकृत पूंजी पुनर्गठन के बाद रु। 87.50 करोड़ रुपये और 8.7.2 9 करोड़ रुपये का भुगतान किया गया पूंजी।
